Hi ChrisDdC,
Yikes! If your phone can’t scan the QR code, you can manually type in the entry key, serial number, or setup code (for newer versions of camera and doorbell). To do so, follow these:
- At the bottom of the QR code scanning screen, tap Continue without scanning.
- Select Nest Doorbell (wired, 2nd gen), Nest Doorbell (wired) or Nest Doorbell (battery) from the list.
- For Nest Doorbell (wired): Type in the entry key.
- If you can't find it on their camera, tap Show me how to see where the entry key or serial number is.
- The entry key is located next to the QR code. The 6-digit setup code (only for newer versions of camera and doorbell) is located on the back of the Nest Doorbell (battery)’s display, below the QR code. For Nest Cam (battery), Nest Cam with floodlight, and Nest Cam (wired), it’s located on the bottom near the charge cable connection and speaker. You can tap find the setup code on the Google Home app for guidance.
- For Nest Doorbell (wired, 2nd gen) and Nest Doorbell (battery): Type the setup code.
- If you can’t find it on the doorbell, ask them to tap Find the code.
- The 6-digit setup code (only for newer versions of camera and doorbell) is located on the back of the Nest Doorbell (wired, 2nd gen) and Nest Doorbell (battery)’s display, below the QR code. For Nest Cam (battery), Nest Cam (wired), and Nest Cam with floodlight, it’s located on the bottom near the charge cable connection and speaker. You can tap find the setup code on the Google Home app for guidance.
- Tap Next.
- On the next screen, type in the entry key or setup code. The app will then continue with setup.
- Tap Next. The app will then continue with setup.
Let us know if that helps.
Best,
Zoe
