Regret moving from Ring to Nest

SamiJake
Community Member

I had Ring doorbell with an ourdoor Ring camera with floodlight and Nest thermostat and Nest indoor camera.  I had the bright idea to get rid of Ring and go all Nest.  Regret!!  The wired doorbell gets HOT to the touch and it doesn't have a chime option to purchase like Ring did. The outdoor camera with floodlight cannot be added to the Nest app and sends me to Google home where I get in an endless loop of "something went wrong" and then when I try to add my new doorbell with my old Nest indoor camera and thermostat, Google home sends me to Nest app!  Nightmare. I'm about to box them both up and return it and leave Nest.  Google, for as much money as you make, you'd think you'd hire some decent developers and fix your products usability!

Hey folks,

Thank you for your feedback on this issue, I fully understand the frustrations of not having your new Nest Cams in the Nest App or available on https://bit.ly/3HtBgJC web app. I can imagine having to use two different apps at the moment is quite daunting, and could lead to frustration.

However, the new Nest cameras and doorbell are exclusive to the Home app because we wanted to create an integrated experience with your speakers and displays. A Nest Aware subscription applies to all of your cameras, speakers, and displays in the same home structure. Thank you for your continued patience, and support.

Best Regards,

Brad
