My Nest Hello works perfectly fine as a standard doorbell (with chime) and as a security tape for reviewing what happened.
Issue I have is a very substantial latency (up to 20 seconds) in notifications and as such it is no good as 1) a smart doorbell (people have often left before I can see who's there let alone speak to them) and 2) a security camera (burglars will have left with my laptop before I get a notification).
This is with paid Nest subscription, excellent wifi signal at wired Nest location, 100Mbps low latency fibre internet, both on iOS and Android (Samsung phone) device - I'm quite sure there's nothing my side I could improve.
I know this has been listed before with no decent feedback and nothing seems to have happened - come on Google you can do better!

Hello PANL,
Thanks for reaching out here in the Community. To confirm, what are the steps you've done so far? Try restarting your Nest Doorbell and your Wifi router. Looking forward to your response.

Emerson

Hi Emerson
Problem has been persistent ever since installing (and seems not unusual).
Have reset router, restarted Nest Doorbell, reinstalled Nest app - all this several times. I don't know how the data is getting from the doorbell to the phone, but I guess it travels several times around the world via different servers and the lag is somewhere in the Google system. As said earlier, seems I am not the only one.

Hi Juni
Yes tried changing al those settings and keep all apps and iOS up to date.
It's been ongoing since the start and seems I am not the only one with this issue, likely a problem embedded in the design (hardware or datastructure).

Hi PANL,
Got it. Could you try to connect your Nest Doorbell to another network and observe if it will make a difference?
I look forward to your response.

Juni

As I have only one network at home (which is a 100Mbps up/down low latency fibre connection giving very good signal strength at the Nest doorbell) I cannot change network unfortunately.
Did a quick timing - from opening home.nest.com to first video is 16 seconds. On my iphone it was 11 seconds so a bit better, but still not enough to act as security or smart doorbell.
