Hi there, as a loyal customer I’d like to know if it will pay off to stay loyal?
if some of those things are not looked at and fixed in the foreseeable future, I don’t believe it’s viable to stay with this ecosystem.
1. When will the nest cams get notifications (both text and voice) on the Nest Hub? Are we getting an “intruder alert” the single most important notification you’d expect to get from your security camera?
2. When will I (and millions of customers) be able to control their cams from the hub (both voice and tap) like even turning on and off?
3. When will I be able to stream cams to TV using Chromecast? This was available before and your competition does it - why would you kill this functionality? When exactly is it coming back?
4. When can I expect to create routines/workflows to let’s say integrate cams and lights for example: when there’s an intruder alert the bulb in the kitchen flashes red?
I’m also finding it hard to “sell” the usefulness of the hub to my family members.
so the big question is: is Nest looking into those kinds of things? Are you going to evolve from the MVP? What’s the plan? Some transparency would be great and will keep your customers engaged.
thanks

Hey Vld,
Thanks for the help, Cathal_S!
We know how important this is for you — let's check this out.
For Nest Camera, you can only ask your Google Nest to stream your camera to it or if you have a Chromecast. Check this guide for more information.
Turning off/on the camera using Nest Hub isn't supported but you can use your Google Home app.
We don't have any news to share when notifications and creating routines when there's an intruder will be available. We hear you and we're always looking for ways to improve and we'll take it as feedback.
Kind regards,
Alex

Thanks for your replies. I believe Google & Nest can be more transparent about the things that they do/planning to do at least with their engaged community. Especially about the features that just need to happen, since the competition is already doing it and because these features are logical and expected to be in place. Otherwise these products are just gimmicks, not working well together or not working together at all. Currently this ecosystem feels like an MVP. So the ask is - please please move faster, listen to what your customers are saying. It's so easy to leave this ecosystem and go for one of your competitor's options that are working well already. Please please please, don't loose us to them.
