Hi people,
If like me you have been having issues with trying to change the notification settings to provide individual alerts for the doorbell instead of the standard Samsung notification tone, you are not alone!!!
Well after a lot of fiddling I found it... An obscure setting in Notifcations defaults to off that disables the ability to set individual alerts of majoarity of apps. So without further ado, these are the instructions using my Samsung Galaxy S23 Ultra running Android 14 / OneUI 6.1
Go to:
- Settings,
- Notifications,
- Advanced Settings.
- scroll to the bottom to 'Manage Notification Categories for each app' and turn that on.
Now:
- go back to Settings,
- Apps,
- find Home and select it,
- Notifications,
- there is now a new Notification Categories,
- then you have Camera and Doorbell notifications,
- click each to set the individual alert tones.
Camera Alert tone works for person recognition, I have vehicle recognition no alert so it just records the event - if that was turned on to notify I assume it would give the same alert.
