Saving video thatts not an event

How do you save a video clip that didn't get registered as an event? 

There are a lot of things my cameras pick up that I would love to save but not all of them get registered as an event, like when the same car was driving slowly past the house for the 4th or 5th time. 

I see it in the camera and there are events before and after but it didn't register the car as an event.

If you have the newer cameras setup in the Google Home app, you can only download video clips from detected events in the video history. You cannot download video clips from footage with no activity.
