Separate Doorbell notification for iPhone

I've read multiple threads showing customers asking for a "doorbell" alert notification when using an iphone.

Point 1 - I had a gen 1 doorbell but it broke (thanks), so I had to purchase a new gen 2 doorbell. which no longer can be added to the NEST app.

Point 2 - The Google Home app does not have this feature as the NEST app did for a separate door chime ON MY PHONE.

question - who at the Google Home development team thinks that having a special alert tone on my phone is NOT important when the whole purpose of the smart doorbell is to alert me with unique alerts (not a std. alert like 1000 other alerts on my phone). Please don't say it is a development difficulty - my ESPN app has no issue delivering a unique alert...

We've had Nest Hello Doorbells for 4 years now, with all 3 still active.  We've never had anything other than a standard iOS default notification sound on our iPhones or iPads when the doorbell button is pressed or an event is detected. And on our iPhone and iPads, under Notifications | Nest app, there are no Sound choices.  In fact, none of the apps on our iPhones and iPads--except Apple apps like Mail and Messages--give us any choice of Sounds. On another post, another customer said they get a Sound choice for the WhatApp app.  And you're saying ESPN provides a choice, so maybe it's possible for Nest to do so.  But they haven't so far.

I've had a NEST app w/Gen 1 doorbell. Mine rings with specific doorbell alert tone on my phone since day 1. Not a system notification alert. I do not have a choice in the NEST app it just worked that way. ESPN as an example has their own alert (I'm sure we all know their tone). It doesn't use the system notification is my example.

My mistake.  On my Apple Watch it's just a standard sound.  Without the watch, I get a doorbell sound (which os not configurable) on my iPhone.

Hello everyone,

@pdifranc626, thanks for reaching out here in the Community. We hear you and I understand that this feature would be helpful to your end however, we don't have any news to share about applying this feature to the Google Home app. We're always looking for ways to improve and we'll take it as feedback. I'd suggest you send yours with our Send Feedback form to let the Google Engineering team know about your concern. While they won't respond directly back to you, this is the best way to let them know about this. Let us know if you have more concerns or questions.

I appreciate the help, MplsCustomer.

Best,

Emerson
