I have had to contact support 3 separate occasions for this. Today I connected the charger to my nest cam battery and i get a message saying its going to take Approximately 14 hours to charge. Every time I contact support they say to reset it and monitor the situation further. What is wrong with the camera or cord? Today I was told unfortunately you will have to buy a new device or cord as your device is no longer under warranty. I don't feel its right for myself to have to purchase a new cord and adapter when I have contacted support numerous times for the same issue. Please advise.

Apparently, a number of customers who have posted in this forum have had defective charging cords that came with their battery cameras. There have also been posts about the USB plug that plugs into the base of the camera being defective, or the camera itself being unable to receive a charge.
If you first contacted Google Nest Support during the 1-year warranty period, I think Google Nest Support should step in and provide a replacement.
We've had a battery camera for almost 16 months now, plugged in all the time with the optional 10-meter charging cable, and the camera stays "Live" and charged at all times in Minnesota winter and summer. So it SHOULD work.

I thought so too, but today to my dismay I was told either buy a new device or cord. All my past conversations were through the same account so I would like to think they can see all the issues I've had in the past. At this point I feel really let down.
