Had an existing Nest doorbell set up for three or four years. As the battery was dying, I bought another one to replace it, hoping to avoid camera drop out issues when the doorbell is pressed.
When I went to add the new one, I kept getting NC014 or NC016 errors. It somehow can't connect to the network. I did successfully add it to a new "home" that I created for test purposes. This was on the same network and it worked, so network connectivity is not the issue.
I do not want to move all of my other nest items to the new "test" home, as that is a major inconvenience and I'm not even sure I can move my Aware subscription with it.
Is there anyway to bypass the "connect to nearby Nest device" and just add it to the network normally by selecting the network?
Note: network is Nest Wifi and there are several thermostats and other cameras on the same home.

Ultimately I had to contact Nest Support to get this accomplished. After repeating the previous steps to no avail, the tech had me remove a 3rd Gen Thermostat and a Nest-E Thermostat from the original home. Then, I was able to add the new doorbell by bringing a Nest Protect nearby. At that point, I re-added the old doorbell to the rear of the house and it used the new doorbell to connect it.
Lastly, I had to re-add the two thermostats and a remote temp sensor. Fortunately, the thermostats have a soft "connection reset" option that does not require a complete reboot and my scheduled temps were intact.
It was frustrating that I had to do any of this, but everything is working now.
