Hi all, this weekend I installed 2 Nest cams, 2nd gen wired. The purpose was to use them to hear when the kids are crying in their bed. To be notified when sound was detected.
But I can’t find it anywhere. I can get notifications for people, animals, etc - but the “hear” section is nowhere to be found.
I also have the aware subscription and I live in The Netherlands.
If I can’t get a notification when there’s a sound in my kids rooms, the cam is useless for me and I will return them.
thanks in advance,

Sadly you are correct. The older gen 1 NEST cameras that work in the NEST APP have the option to notify you if they hear a sound. But the newer Gen 2 cameras that only work in the GOOGLE HOME app do not have that as an option yet. Fingers crossed they add it at some point but Google does not pre-announce anything so we have no idea if and when it is coming.

Unfortunately, 2nd gen Google Nest cameras and doorbells have a separate "Heard events" category, and the ONLY options are "Carbon monoxide alarm sounds" and "Smoke alarm sounds". (I just checked on our one 2nd gen battery camera.) It's one of numerous other Nest app functions that are missing in the Google Home app; the others that Google Nest discloses are:

Thanks for your answers - for me this means that I have to return the cams.
Appreciate the quick response.
