Stolen camera, stolen data?

My Nest gen 2 camera is located where it might be stolen from its magnetic mount.

Assuming I'm subscribed to Nest Aware plus:  If a bad guy grabs the camera and runs, will I have a video of his actions?

Does the camera continuous upload videos or does it upload them at its convenience?

I have Nest Aware Plus; the cameras records second by second and uploads to the cloud on the Google infrastructure. In the case that you are describing, the bad guy will be recorded up to the moment that he steals the camera and thus disconnects it from the Internet.

Does anyone know whether we can access our camera or doorbell's history if it is missing from the system because it was stolen?

I'm asking because whenever we've had a brief problem with one of our cameras being offline, it seems we have been unable to access is history until the camera is back online.

My camera was NOT stolen, thanks!

I was curious about what would happen IF someone stole it.

@EmersonB

I'll ask the question again:

Can we access our camera's or doorbell's history if it is missing from the system because it was stolen?

Hi folks,

@cvkimball, thanks for clarifying. You may still review the recorded events however, when the Nest Camera is outside the range of your Wi-Fi it won't be able to record videos to be saved to the cloud.

Thanks for your assistance, MplsCustomer.

Best,

Emerson
