Suddenly not getting Nest Doorbell notifications

Hello,

As of this morning, I'm suddenly not getting any notifications from my Nest Doorbell to my Google Pixel phone. Specifically I'm not getting my normal notifications of people, motion, etc. or when the doorbell itself is pressed. To be clear, they were working fine until mid this morning and I didn't change any settings on my phone in the meantime.

FYI my Nest Doorbell 'lives' in the Google Home as part of the current public preview.

What I've tried:

  • Going through all the relevant notification settings in the Google Home
  • Going through all the relevant notifications settings in the Nest app (though the doorbell isn't there any more)
  • Going through all the relevant notification settings in my Pixel's settings
  • Clearing the Google Home app cache, stopping the app, reinstalling the app
  • Restarting my phone
  • Manually restarting the Doorbell

So in all, I'm a bit stumped. It literally just stopped working randomly.

The only thing I can think of is that I migrated from a Pixel 8 Pro to a Pixel 9 Pro yesterday. But I was receiving notifications from the Doorbell just fine on the 9 Pro until mid-this morning. And booting up the Pixel 8 Pro, it's not getting them either.

Hope someone can help!

Glad is started working again.   But what you expreienced has been reported by other users on this forum over the last few  years.  My best conclusion is the a lot of the functions (like getting notifications) happen by Google's back end servers.  And sometimes they just fail at certain times.  A common one I have seen is you can watch a recorded event but you can't see a live image.  Then suddenly hours later it starts to work.  Sadly, people get frustrated and start reseting the cameras back to factory seeing and reinstalling every under the sun only to learn that they were never going to succeed at fixing the problem at their end.

... just my 2 cents worth.
