Talk and listen broken

Home app version 3.1.1.14 has broken Talk and Listen on my Nest Doorbell Battery. the Nest Cam battery also has the same problem. Visitors cannot hear my voice but I can hear them. The doorbell and cameras had this issue in 2021 and 2022 and it was recognised by Google, but it was fixed in a Google Home update. The latest Home update to version 3.1.1.14 has broken Talk and Listen on my doorbell and cameras once again. I am using a Samsung Galaxy S21.

And I have tried everything that Juni Community Specialist suggested (before they prematurely closed the thread) including -

Hi divadyasdnil
Got it. Check out the steps below and try it. Then let me know how it went by updating this thread.
Check the Google Home app or Nest app permissions see the steps below:
For Android users: Go to the phone’s SettingsAppsGoogle Home or NestPermissions, and make sure Microphone is enabled.
Test if the device’s microphone is working.
Open the default voice recorder app or any other app that uses your device’s microphone and test the device’s microphone on the app.
Check if the device is connected to a Bluetooth device that may be serving as the microphone.
Regards,
Juni

What I have noticed is that restarting the phone appears to solve the problem for a while.  For example, I get up in the morning and Talk & Listen doesnt work properly.  I restart the phone it works ok.  Later in the day I find that Talk & Listen has stopped working again.  I restart the phone and it starts working ok again.  I should also add that the Quick Responses ('hello you can just leave it' etc) are always loud enogh for visitors to hear.  It is only when Talk & Listen is active that visitors cannot hear me due to the volume from the doorbell or cams being far too low.  And yes, I have the volume of the doorbell and cams set to max so that is not the problem.

I'm going to reiterate.  This is the same problem that the Nest Doorbell Battery and the Nest Cam batterys suffered from before.

Hey Folks,

I’m sorry for the trouble this has caused you, let me help you out. Just a couple of questions: Do you have a family member who have access to this camera? If so, are they having the same issue on the Google Home app on there phone?

@Anonymous, we would like to know if you already tried the steps provided to divadyasdnil.
1.Go to the phone’s >Settings>Apps>Google Home or Nest Permissions, and make sure Microphone is enabled.
2.Test if the device’s microphone is working.
3.Open the default voice recorder app or any other app that uses your device’s microphone and test the device’s microphone on the app.
4.Check if the device is connected to a Bluetooth device that may be serving as the microphone.

I look forward to your response.

Thanks,
Edmond

I have two other family members who use Apple iPhones with access to the cameras.  Talk & Listen in the Google Home app works ok for them.

I have checked your solutions 1, 2 and 3 before and my devices microphone is working perfectly.

I will check your solution 4 again and report back in case I have overlooked something.  The Talk & Listen problem is intermittent so it might take me a few days of testing.
