Talk through nest cameras no longer works on iOS 26.
I have multiple cameras. Nest IQ indoor and out door. Nest cam indoor and nest hello. Settings for Microphone is enabled in nest app and within the phone settings.
Feature stopped working after installing iOS 26 on phone. My wife’s phone running iOS 18 can still talk through cameras.
google please update nest app to be compatable with iOS 26
Google home app also does not work for talking through camera.

Problem has been solved. You must transfer cameras to the Google Home app. Nest app is no longer being supported by Google and they will eventually be sunsetting the app.
The cameras need to be transfered from the nest app to the Google home app. No longer being accessible in nest. Once you transfer the cameras over to Google Home, they are forced into an update mode. This fixes the issue.

Big waste of time. I cancelled my subscription which just renewed. I was told it’s not refundable. So 108 bucks down the drain. Thanks google. I went with Eufy which has no fees. Way better service. So I hope all of you cancel yours as well. 108 is crazy for what they give you. And remember if you have a problem they don’t care. They already have your money.

Same issue here 5 Nest IQ and 1 Nest Hello. Talk. Feature stopped working on iOS26 on BOTH Google Home and Nest apps. Tried app removal and reinstall, reboot, hard reboot with no success… Talk functionality works ok from browser as well as other 3rd party apps. Issue is with nest and GHome apps.

Same issue for me with iPhone (iOS 26). I tried the feature on my iPad with iOS 18, and it works as expected. Issue is persistent on both Nest app and Google Home app and for both legacy Nest account and Google account.

Exactly the same issue with me. Having two phones , one with iOS 18 and one with iOS 26. I am glad that I didn’t install one phone to iOS 26.

I'm cancelling too. We'te coming up on 2 months with no working intercom.
This is insane... Imagine Apple iPhone cameras suddenly stopped.working, apple would fix it inside of 24 hours.
all just vote with our $ and cancel our subs

Just an fyi. They wont give you any refund. I wasted almost 1 hour going back and forth with no luck. 108 bucks wasted. Everyone should cancel before they take more money from you.
Saturday
Called support to ask if we’d be getting refunded for the now TWO MONTHS without full function, and the lady said I’d be getting an email from engineering (??) to verify if I could get that refund, then asked to verify my email that she used to access my account and gave me someone else’s email address. So Google is being supported by idiots who don’t give a crap since they have your money already in hand. Don’t forget guys, they get access to the alpha version of new iOS to work out these kinks YEARS in advance. 26 was given to them in 2023!! They just do not care. Cut your losses and ditch Google.

This is absolutely false. I have had my cameras in GH for months and the audio in and out still does not work. Tested in 3 seconds ago, does not work. Stop lying and refund us!!!

Shut up and stop spreading blatant misinformation.
My setup has been on both google home and nest since the start. It is NOT fixed.

I reported the post for misinformation, perhaps if we all do it will get removed so people don’t get false hope?

You realize I’m the person who originally created this post, and found the issue. The cameras need to be transfered from the nest app to the Google home app. No longer being accessible in nest. I bet you have access to the camera right now in both Google home and nest. That won’t work. Once you transfer the cameras over to Google Home, they are forced into an update mode. This fixes the issue. I do not work for Google

This is complete bull**bleep**. Is google paying you to say this **bleep**?
It is an ios26.0.1 issue. It has NOTHING to do with Nest vs Home or "transferring cameras". I can get the mic to work anytime simply by using any device not running ios26. It works just FINE on nest.
STOP MAKING **bleep** UP and please remove your own post as the recommended answer cause it's flat out WRONG!
Wednesday
I can confirm this is the case. Did it last night. Saddened to see the Nest App go, but alas, all things must come to an end some day.

Audio option NOT working on iOS26.0.1 not with latest version of Google Home app NOR with Nest app. All my nest devices were transferred to google acount years ago - this is not a variable. I can get intercom (talk-through ) to work in 2 ways:
1) using Apple Home app with nest cameras connected via a HomeKit hub ( Starling hub ) - I shave had this setup for years and even today it works flawlessly
2) using 3rd party “Home+” app - this essentially an ‘advanced alternative’ to Apple’s home app - with more functionality… it also relates on the nest cameras being accessible through HomeKit using the starling hub mentioned above.
The issue is with both of the apps that are managed by Google - goggle home and nest app…
yesterday
I also moved the cameras to Google Home, and the voice function is working properly again. It's a shame about the Nest app, but the Google Home app works fine too.
