I have two cameras installed at my house. One is a few years old, the other is more like five+ years old.
When I look at the Nest app on my phone, about 2/3s of the way up , it shows a temperature reading and the weather conditions ("clear", "partly cloudy"). Where does this information come from?
I DO NOT have a thermostat, and the temperature shown seldom aligns with either the temperature inside or outside of my house.
I have searched a number of times for this information and I only get results for thermostats. Can someone help me?
Thank you,
Dave

Hello dba2023,
Thank you for taking an interest in our community. I understand you have a question about where the temperature reading and weather conditions come from. Don’t worry, it’s a pleasure to assist you.
The weather information you see in the Nest app comes from the location you've set for your home in the app, which is used to obtain local weather data. If your home's location in the Nest app isn't correct, the weather information displayed may be incorrect.
Let me know if you have any other questions.
Regards,
Daniel

Hi Dave,
I don't know so I'll send this over to a Community Specialist. I have all my cameras in the Google Home app and I have a thermostat so I can't check properly on this end.
I assume it is sourced based on set location in the app the same as the Google Nest Displays and the thermostat.
Hopefully the specialists can get a more definitive answer for you.

Thank you Daniel. I will check on the location and update. Since the cameras are at a cabin in the mountains, I bet I set it up for my home instead, hence the disconnect. I appreciate your quick and helpful response.
