I recently bought a Nest Battery Doorbell. My wife managed to throw away the box not realising the thin metal mount plate was still in it. So I have a doorbell with no mounting plate.
No problem one might think. Just buy a replacement mounting plate. But guess what? Google apparently do not supply spare plates for the battery doorbell, I am told by customer service.
Why not? Apparently because they don’t give a s**t about customer service.
Having done some searching on this, it is quite a common problem. But they do not offer any spare parts in the store - not even for the little unlocking key that comes with the kit and is incredibly easy to lose. They don’t provide spares for those either, for some reason.
Hence, for the lack of a £1 fixing bracket, a new £170 doorbell is now apparently junk.
This really is not good enough, Google.

yep, many on this site are reporting the same thing. Google has lost it! I sure wish they had never purchased the NEST company because they have ruined it.
