The video isn't available yet

I have a Nest Cam with Floodlight hardwired along with a wired doorbell cam.

I have had odd occasions in the past couple of months where I have wanted to check on an event or notification and it has has the message The video isn't available yet Check back later.

Tonight I got a notification and I needed to check it and the notification takes you to this error. I have left it a while and still nothing. Then when I went scrolling back through the history this error started from 04:30 this morning and I am in the UK and it is now 20:00 and all the videos during that time are all the same video is not available message.

This is only happening on the floodlight cam the doorbell cam is always good.

If anything major as to happen with say police involved this would be no good and pretty pointless as a means of security.

I have done various resets of power and app and pin hole in the back when it happened before but seemingly none of that leads to correcting the issue as it will correct itself just didn't realise it could be this bad for this long.

Sadly this seems to be pretty "normal" in my experience as well.

Hi binghambloke,

Thanks for posting in the community!

I'm so sorry to hear that sometimes when you try to check the video history of your Nest Cam with floodlight, you get the message "The video isn't available yet. Please check back later". Don't worry; I'm here to help!

Oftentimes, this can happen when your Nest Camera is having difficulties connecting to the Google Nest servers or when the WiFi connection is weak in the camera's location. If the Nest Camera has a slow internet connection, it may also experience delays in uploading video history to the cloud, which can cause this message to appear.

Here are some recommendations to prevent this from happening again:

  • Ensure the WiFi router or access point is within a reasonable range (1 to 15 meters) between 3 and 50 feet from the Nest Camera.
  • Consider adding access points near the Nest Camera or moving the camera closer to an existing access point or router.
  • Use the 2.4GHz band on your WiFi connection.
  • Move any devices that might interfere with the WiFi connection, such as older microwave ovens, Bluetooth devices, baby monitors, motors, or heaters.

If you have more questions for me, feel free to reply to this post. I'll be happy to assist further!

Best regards,

Nery.
