Hi Pammertime,

Thank you for posting in the community. I'm sorry that your three Nest cameras are unable to charge and connect to the Google Home app. I understand how frustrating this can be. I really appreciate the effort to troubleshoot the situation. I'm here to help.

Before I begin, I need to ask a few questions for further assistance:

  1. What type of device do you have?
  2. How far have you gotten in pairing your device?
  3. How far is the device from the router?
  4. Can you connect to the internet with other devices?
  5. Are there any devices or appliances nearby, such as baby monitors, microwaves, cordless phones, etc., that you wish to pair with?
  • Note: Those devices could interfere with the Wi-Fi or Bluetooth signal.

Please keep me posted. I'll look forward to your response.

Regards,

Byron

Hi Byron,

  1. What type of device do you have?

    iPhone 15
  2. How far have you gotten in pairing your device?

When I add the device I get this:
    Preparing device...connecting to joining device
Something went wrong...(try connecting again, if that doesn't work, try rebooting your device, or turning your phones airplane mode mode on and off before trying again.
I have tried all of that and I see getting the same result.
  3. How far is the device from the router?
Not far, pulling 300 mpbs (I did a check internet speed test a few times)
  4. Can you connect to the internet with other devices?
    Yes
  5. Are there any devices or appliances nearby, such as baby monitors, microwaves, cordless phones, etc., that you wish to pair with?
    No

Thank you for your help, I look forward to hearing back from you.

    Regards,

    Pammertime

Hi Pammertime,

Thank you for your response. I'm sorry for the misunderstanding in regards to the first question.

What I tried to say is, What type of Nest cameras do you have?

Have you tried to use another charging cable to connect to the Nest cameras?

Also, please check with your phone the following:

  • Make sure it’s on the same Wi-Fi network as the selected network for the Nest camera device.

  • Bluetooth must be enabled, but not connected to any Bluetooth devices.
  • Cellular data must be turned off.

  • On iOS devices with iOS 14 or later, ensure that local network access is enabled for the Google Home app. Please do the following:
  1. On the iOS device's home screen, tap Settings.

  2. Tap Privacy & Security.

  3. On the app list, turn on Local Network Access for the Google Home app.

Please let me know how it goes and keep me posted.

Regards,

Byron
