Thumbnail shows event but video doesn’t load

Hello, we have a Google nest wired doorbell. I’m able to see that someone rang the doorbell and the thumbnail of the video in action, but the actual video does not load. This has happened quite a few times.

Thank you for reaching out to the community. I understand you’re having trouble with your Google Nest Wired Doorbell that is unable to load the recorded event, even though you can see the thumbnail of the video in action and the notification. Help’s here.

For better assistance, please respond to the following questions:

  • What type of Google Nest Wired Doorbell do you have? (Here is a helpful article to identify the model of Nest Doorbell).
  • Are you signed into the Nest app or Google Home app?
  • Are you able to check the camera’s live feed?
  • When did the Google Nest Wired Doorbell stop working?
  • Did anything change in the home or with the camera around that time?
  • Do you have a Google Home Premium subscription (Formally Nest Aware Subscription)? If so, which plan is it?
  • How is the Wi-Fi connection in that part of the house?
  • Are you experiencing any other network situations, such as other devices going offline, slow downloads, or video buffering?
