Timestamps on Nest Cameras?

Buster6070

The last update I saw on this is from March.  Does anyone know if this has been added?  Only being able to see the date and time within the app isn't helpful when submitting downloaded video to local law enforcement.  The time and date should be on the actual video itself.  Not to mention you can only reference that info until the video cycles out of the last 30 days.  That's freaking ridiculous.   When I download the video, it should include the time and date on the video.

Example attached.  Someone stealing my flag.  What day and time did this take place?  If you're just going off the video, or it's 30 days after it happened, I guess you'll never know. NEST.jpg

Hi everyone,

Thanks for reaching out here in the Community. We understand that this feature is not available in the Google Home app and we don't have any news to share about applying this to the Google Home app. We're always looking for ways to improve and we'll take it as feedback. I'd suggest you send feedback to let the Google Engineering team know about your concern. While they won't respond directly back to you, this is the best way to let them know about this. Let me know if you have more questions.

I appreciate the help, MplsCustomer.

Best,

Emerson

Unfortunately, Google Nest's 2nd generation cameras and doorbells, which are installed in the Google Home app, still do not have timestamps:

"Timestamps are only available for cameras set up with the Nest app, this feature isn’t available in the Home app.

When you download a video clip from the Nest app, it comes with timestamps that are visible when you turn on English subtitles."

security cameras with no time stamp option isnt worth sh!t. Add that to the growing list of stupid things Google has done to the great Nest.

The "feedback" must be quite a list by now... I mean the main feedback is stop taking away functionality that we have already paid for I guess?

Example 42789 why the Nest app is better than anything Google has ever done by themselves.
