Trouble re-adding camera to Google Home after wifi reset

I recently reset my wifi password.  I have an outdoor camera (battery) that I had to reconnect.  The camera is mounted outside and is not easy to reach.  The first step I took was "forgetting" the camera on Google Home app.

Now, when I attempt to add the camera back to Google Home using the "setup code," the app is unable to locate the camera and after several minutes gives the message "Something went wrong. Try connecting again.  If that doesn't work, try rebooting your device or turning your phone's airplane mode on and off before trying again."

I have tried those steps multiple times.

Would love some help with steps I can take to re-add my camera back to Google Home, reconnect to wifi, and continue to use.  Thanks!

Are you getting a flashing blue status light on your camera? If not, then it may not have been factory reset.

Removing your camera from the Google Home app is supposed to perform a factory reset, but have you tried performing a manual factory reset by pressing the reset pin for at least 12 seconds?

If you are getting a blue status light, perhaps the Wi-Fi signal at your camera's location may not be strong enough for the setup procedure.  A couple of times with our Google Nest cameras, we had to perform the install with the camera close to one of our Wi-Fi access points, and then after the install was successful, placing the camera in the desired location.

Thanks for the quick reply!  The light is green and hasn't blinked.

I've tried to unplug, wait 60 seconds, and then re-plug the power cable, but no changes take place.

The camera is close to our wifi router (probably about 15 feet away right outside the house from the room with the router).  I haven't tried performing the manual factory reset yet... the camera is mounted pretty high on the exterior wall, and I'm not sure how to disconnect from the mount, assuming the reset pin is hidden behind the camera.  Is this an easy process if I get a ladder?

As shown in the link I provided earlier, the reset pin or button is n the back of the camera.

If the status light is green, then the factory reset has not occurred and the camera is not ready to be reinstalled in the Google Home app.

If you have the battery doorbell, then the camera is only held in place with the magnetic mount. If you have a security loop installed, then you will need to need to remove that.

Hi, I had the same problem!

After we got a new WiFi network at home, I could no longer connect the cameras to the new WifI network. I have reset the cameras, removed them from the google home app and tried adding them again. None of this worked.
Until I decided to buy a separate power cable for the battery version of the camera. I removed the cameras outside and then connected them to the socket with the cable that is actually suitable for the battery version. I then reset the camera again and added it to the Google Home app and this now worked! The camera was found in the Google Home app. After the installation process, I disconnected the cameras from the power inside and hung them outside again (only then did I have a picture). So this is the solution for non-working wired cameras. Good luck!

I bought this cable: (I live in Holland)

Thank you!  The prior suggestion worked for me, but I appreciate you taking the time to reply and help out.
