Trying to reinstall my nest hello wired doorbell

Trying to reinstall my nest hello wired doorbell. It worked for over two years. I’ve been removed it so that the front of the house could be resided. When I reconnected the doorbell it won’t ring. The green light at the top of the bell is flashing. However there is no blue or yellow light around the button. I know it’s got power because if I touch the two wires together the doorbell rings

Hi there,

Sorry for my late response. Thank you for all of your patience while waiting for a reply. I just wanted to make sure that your issue is addressed. I can definitely understand how frustrating your situation must be. I would love to help you find a solution to this issue.

  • Do you still need help with this issue?

  • What troubleshooting steps have you done thus far?

  • Have you tried to restart your device if you haven’t already?

  • If the restart didn’t work, have you tried to do a Factory Reset? This would be a last resort option, but would clear out issues and the device would essentially be ‘brand new’

Please let me know if you need further assistance.

Best Regards,

Brad.

Hi Brad.  I still need help. I did a hard reset of the doorbell and nothing. I know there is power because the little green light at the top of the bell is lit.  Also off I touch the red and white wire together the doorbell rings. Just not when the Nest is connected. Any suggestions?

Hi there,

It sounds like it may not be getting enough power. It may be getting enough to show it is powered on, but It may not be getting sufficient power. Was it damaged in any way when it was removed? Was it hooked up exactly as it was before it was taken down? I would suggest Factory Resetting it again until it works. I understand that sounds tedious, but it tends to work if reset it, check it again, reset it again. Please let me know if that makes a difference for you.

Best Regards,

Brad.

Hi, everyone.
As we haven't had any activity here recently I'm going to go ahead and close the thread. If you have more to add, feel free to start a new discussion.

Hi Brad,

I have the same challenge with my nest doorbell and I have tried the hard reset a couple times but the reset won't even come through because there's no light indicator from the round hello button, it just displays a green status light at the top when you power it, then it goes off and doesn't respond anymore.

Your quick response will be appreciated.

@Boluwatife

I am sorry to hear that your issue you are having with your Nest Hello Doorbell! Have you tried to Factory Reset your doorbell? It would essentially be a new Doorbell, but it may clear up this issue you are having. Please let me know if you need anything else.

Best Regards,

Brad.

It wouldn't even reset, cause it isn't powering up.
