Hi there,
Recently I have posted a problem with streaming from my doorbell to my Google minis in regard of notifications. Since I cant find the post with the number anymore from Google support, I now have to start all over again, so first my questions and then a summary of the problem (which is also current), what is done and a summary of the equipment and WiFi-situation in our house.
QUESTIONS
<1> What do I need to do in order to get a reliable notification service from de Nest doorbell on my iPhone and most important on all my Google mini's?
<2> Is it possible that the notification of the doorbell doesnt work when Spotify is on over the Google mini's?
PROBLEM
Problem<<>> we cant rely on the doorbell anymore. Sometimes it rings, sometimes it doesnt. More not than yes. If there is a notification, it is most of the time on one of the Google mini's (office my wife). Sometimes it gives a message on my iPhone, no image though.
WHAT ALREADY HAS BEEN DONE (days and hours on length)
We used to have a system that was working, reliable notifications trough the whole house on the Google mini's. The first 10-14 months also a notification (sound and mage) on my iPhone after the first installment of the doorbell. Then all of a sudden not anymore. Since the Google mini's were working, we couldnt care less. Now the notification has become unreliable to say the least. We dont know why.
This problem has been happening for more than 5 months. I have been working on it over the last 2-3 months, reading all Google support texts and use them. So, I have turned visitors announcement on-and-of-and-on again; I reset, even factory reset all devices at least two times, including the Orbi router and satellites. Last time for the reset of devices (doorbell and Google mini's) was the day before yesterday. In that day, Google support was kind enough to chat with me for about 6 (!) hours. Of course, starting with all the standard protocols. Very frustrating for me, since I already done that many times, but I understand they want to do that at least once.
Finally, an expert in the chat, who tried to solve the problem. Since we had to wait and see if the last activities would result in a good working situation, we delayed further contact. Unfortunately, I cant find the mail he promised to send with the case-number.
What has improved:
- now and then the doorbell gives notifications on the Google Mini's. We dont why and why not. So, it is still not reliable.
- I get a message on my iPhone (text). It is small and short. When you blink your eye, you wont see it.
SITUATION
Our apartment in Amsterdam is about 160m2, two floors with brick wall's en wooden floors (I guess). We have a doorbell downstairs, a short stairs down from the first floor(wired Nest video); and 5 Google mini's on all area's the house, so we can hear everywhere when someone is at the door. Or at least that was the idea. We also have 5 Google camera's (one outdoor). Our wifi is good, average speed = 600 Mbps. Orbi router with two satellites (RBR850). Every time I check in the Orbi app, the connection with all devices is either four (from five) or three from five via WiFi.
So, I dont want to go through all standard protocols again. Been there and have done that, more than once AND with Google support watching. We do need some help. If it cant be fixed, the system from Nest-Google is useless and we have to find other ways, maybe the old fashioned one. Still, I cant believe that a company like Google cant manage to create a working system. Though in my quest for solutions, I have found a disturbing amount of questions in the community about similar issues.

It is still not fixed. The ring from the doorbell doesnt come through on all speakers.

Hey Theodam,
I appreciate the update. I've checked your case and saw that they're suggesting you submit your feedback with your issue through your Google Home app. Also, the email says that you may reach them with the link they've provided to rectify this. Were you able to contact them? In case you have an update, you know where to find us.
