US purchased wired doorbell 2022 will work in the UK?

As the title says, I would like to purchase from the US a Nest Doorbell wired 2022 and wondering if will work in the UK.

@Sorell81.  I did some checking and yet it should be compatible just fine as long as the requirements are met (Mostly meaning power).  This will help....

Hi, thanks for your reply but the link you gave me shows if the Nest Hello or Nest Battery doorbell can be fitted in your house, it doesn't say anything about the second gen wired doorbell which is currently not available in the UK. I have a friend in the US and he will visit soon, should I tell him to purchase a second gen wired doorbell from the US or is not going to be compatible here? This is my question. I currently pay a £10 subscription for Nest Aware

As I mentioned I'm just an end-user. I do not work for Google.   Do you know why it isn't sold in the OK?

I guess there is also a concern that the App will see it as a U.S. version and not let you add it to your configuration since the app knows you are in the UK. 

If it were me I would have him buy it and bring it to you.  If it doesn't work he can bring it back to the U.S. and return it for a refund as long as it is in the return window.

I will see if I can find out anything else but ultimately I think you just have to give it a try.

Hello again,  I have done a bit more digging and it sounds like it is a bad idea.  It might work but there are a number of frustrating limits that you might run in to.  Devices getting set up outside of their intended regions can have small issues.   Sometimes they work pretty well, sometimes they don't work at all, but most times they work with some noticeable compromise. Google recommends to only  buy products officially available in that regions.   You won't have access to proper support outside of an official available region.  And little things like ALERTS and Facial Recognition may not work properly. 

Sorry,  but I guess I'm changing my recommendation to not giving it a try.

I can imagine it has been an inconvenience, and I would love to look into this further for you. You definitely should not use a device that was not purchased in your country/region. Your camera will not function the same, nor would the cloud services work if you purchased the doorbell in the US and are taking it to UK.
