Unable to create or modify activity zone

As of today I am unable to create or modify activity zones - I removed and reinstalled camera and google home app - it did not solve the issue

Ok, my Google Home is working correctly now as of about three weeks ago after the latest update. I also reset my cameras with a hard reset and that seem to have fixed my problems. Sorry for the late entry I've been out of touch. All my Nest products seem to be working correctly now.

@Gluppy ,  do you get the 4 colored activity zones showing in your cam feed? like on Nest app?  I had a look and could not find the 4 colored streams.

@Gluppy, as you have been using the new Google Home App, do you get the "Zoom & Enhance" feature that we have on the Nest app for Nest Outdoor Cam? 
I have been using it for about 10 years.  It is invaluable and would be a significant backward step if it is not going to be available. Google has the code and just needs to port it over.  

I forgot to mention that tip that I got from another user. Yes you have to turn off Wi-Fi on your phone. Then the Nest equipment can operate correctly when you reload it. Otherwise the band with gets overloaded briefly during the updates. Thanks to the person who alerted me to this.

Google Nest has STILL not added the "Zoom & Enhance" feature to the Google Home app. It's one of numerous features still lacking in the Google Home app; see the "Nest app only features" listed here (and the list does not include everything that's lacking):

I have the 4 activity zones created on my Nest Cam wired like I have on my Nest cam on Nest app BUT I cannot see the events by activity zone? and I do not see the color dot markers on the timeline for the Nest cam n Google Home.  How do I see the events by activty zone? and how do I turn them on in the timeline like on Nest Cam App?  Thanks.

Hey TBCuthbert,

 

Thanks for reaching out here in the Community. To make sure that we’re on the same page, I’d like to confirm, are you referring to seeing the events from your activity zones (that you setup from your Nest app) to the Google Home app ? If so, then we would recommend you to view it directly from your Nest app since it's an older version of Nest Camera.

Google Home. Already posted in this thread that the problem was solved. My WiFi was slow so adjusting the zone was difficult. I had tried shutting down my phone, it didn’t work.  The app & everything was up to date. Once I got off of WiFi, I was able to adjust the zone no problem. Problem solved. We have fiber internet, so it is pretty fast. Anyway, this worked for me. No problems since.

Also, I am talking about on your iPhone not taking down Wi-Fi for your house when you were trying to do the update the first time. I also had to do a hard reset on my cameras during this.

Also, in response to the previous user, yes I'm getting all my colors back when I tried to create the zones working like it used to under the Nest app.

Typically Google. They have everything and yet everything is half-baked.

Indeed, all the products from Google have all the bells and whistles, but everything is half-baked, raw, polluted and weighed down by the complexity to a point that NOTHING works.

Seems to be an issue with the KanBan board filling up and overflowing.
