Unable to release unit from mount.

I just purchased a Nest Doorbell (battery). Mounted according to direction. Unit works fine.  Checking out how I will charge the unit and it will not release from the mount. Slot is on bottom not on top as instructions state. Will not budge. I have attempted with the tool supplied and a small flat blade screwdriver. Any suggestions.

@Weig

Is your doorbell mounted with the camera on the top, the doorbell button on the bottom, and the circle near the bottom of the doorbell inserted in the hole near the bottom of the base plate, as shown starting at about 3:10 in the installation video?

I installed using that video. Exactly as it was done.

@Weig

I'm just another Google Nest customer, but if the slot on your doorbell is on the bottom rather than on the top, making it impossible to unmount your doorbell to charge it, I don't think you have any other choice than to return the doorbell as defective. If you bought it from Google Nest, you can contact Support starting with this link:

Hi folks,

Thanks for the help here, MplsCustomer.

Weig, thanks for reaching out. Have you had a chance to talk to our support team? If so, could you provide the case number they provided so we can further check? Also, with regards to the article that was provided (here is the link of the video) at 3:36 shows how you can remove your Nest Doorbell (battery). To confirm, is that how you’ve been trying to do it?

Keep me posted.

Regards,

Juni
