I have a Nest Doorbell (Gen 1), Nest Thermostat, and just purchased a Nest Floodlight with cam.
I found out that the Nest Floodlight requires a new app Google Home, which is fine. I installed it and get everything configured with my other cameras. The only issue is the 24/7 live feed for the Nest Doorbell (Gen 1) only show in the Nest app, and not Google Home.
Is this by design? Is this feature coming later? If its not coming, Id rather switch to a product line that all works in a single app. Silly to have a different app for each camera.

Google Nest says they're working on adding support for our older cameras and doorbells in the Google Home app; this is their post from Nov. 2022:
And in this May 2023 post, they say: "In July, Public Preview users of the Home app will be able to begin transferring some of our original Nest cameras to the new camera experience in the Home app, starting with first generation Nest Cam Indoor and followed by Nest Cam Outdoor."
I'm just another Google Nest customer; it seems like it could be awhile before support for the Google Nest Hello Doorbell is added to the Google Home app.

Hi Edmond - Thanks for following up. I just to confirm then, no 24/7 history in google home app for gen 1 nest doorbells?

Hi there,
For the 1st Gen Nest Camera and Doorbell, you can only save and download the video recording on the Nest App or the Webapp (https://goo.gle/2qjvVSU), but you can access the video footage on Google Home or the Nest app.
Thanks,
Edmond

Your statement is not entirely accurate. When we view our 1st gen Google Nest cameras and doorbells in the Google Home app and select "Full history", we can see EVENT video history, but we CANNOT see 24/7 video footage.

Hey everyone,
I'm sorry for the confusion. The 1st Gen Nest Camera's 24/7 video footage can only be accessed on the Nest App. The 24/7 video history in the Google Home app is only available for the 2nd Gen Nest Camera and doorbell with a Nest Aware Plus subscription. Let me know if you have additional questions.
Best,
Edmond

Thank you for this resource Edmond. My situation is similar. I have two first generation cameras operating under the nest app. I purchased a newer second generation nest doorbell and it’s working fine through the google home app. I also subscription to Nest aware however, I’m confused as to why, when I click on event history to watch a recent video in nest and home I am getting a still picture of the event. Do I have a setting wrong or am I perhaps not properly logged in any advice you can provide is appreciated. John in Ca

also to clarify, when I go through the fingernail in nest , I can scroll through the history of events and see the time moving however, it just does not play the video .? Again this is on the Nest app and the Google Home app for those two older cameras

Hi Lance - Is someone able to check with the developers if they have this feature mapped out for a future update? And if so, when?
08-27-2023 08:05 PM
Hi Quartzon,
Thanks for getting back to me. While we don’t have information on whether this feature will be included in a future update, the best way to get your thoughts, feedback, or feature requests to the developers who can make changes is by submitting feedback in the Google Home app.
Keep an eye on the Google Nest Community page for any updates. Feel free to reach out if you have any other questions in the future.
Cheers,
Lance
