Unmounted Nest Cam battery should send notification

Currently when the nest cam battery is removed from the mount, there is no notification nor video recording. So someone could basically steal the camera without triggering any alert and no last recording that happens. This is a major flaw of a security device

Hello mmvpp,

Thanks for reaching out here in the Community. We hear you and we wanted to help you with this. If you want you may get the Nest Cam (battery) Weatherproof Cable from the Google Store. This way you don't have to unmount it to charge it inside your house. Let us know if you have more questions in mind.

Regards,

Emerson

This is not about charging the cam. Someone just removed my cam and I didn't even know until days later when I went to the Home app and it just said  it was unmounted. No notification, no recording on who did it.

Hi mmvpp,

I'm sorry for the confusion. Is your Nest Camera still in your Google Home app? Have you tried checking if your Push notification and Seen events settings are enabled? Do you also have an Activity Zone setup? Have you tried checking the full history of your recorded events?

Looking forward to your response.

Thanks,

Emerson
