I’ve had the mains powered Nest camera for 2 years now with a subscription and why I stick with it I really don’t know some days.
Yesterday it recorded just 3 moments where it detected vehicle or person movements. Today, none. There were loads it missed.
Ive been here before, followed all the forum guides, switched it off and back on, reinstalled it from scratch, setup the app again. Im on super fast fibre to the house so no issues there.
Its had periods like this before not working. It will likely work fine tomorrow.
Support is minimal. I pay £80/year. It’s cheap I guess in some ways for home security, but over 2 years it hasn’t really got better.
Anyone else have similar issues?

I feel your pain. This device is a horrible piece of junk. If there is the most minimal interference from your wifi or a neighbors' wifi, it won't work. It also only keeps video for 3 hours--sounds like you actually pay for the extra data but I would recommend stop wasting your money. Google and Nest have some serious homework to do because this is totally unreliable for me too. Any minimal thunderstorm or rainstorm in Florida makes it go dark. Not to mention hurricanes--it needs factory resets after each one.

A week later it’s working. Switched on “detect all motion” for a bit and then it seemed to spring into life again. Switched that off and left person, vehicle and animal detection and seems ok again. Is it the app? Is it the camera? Is it google api servers? Who knows!

Every few months notifications just stop. They make you do all the things. Just as magically as they stop, they start working again... Missing events and now events are just plain cutting off after a short clip!! This just started, and paying for a subscription to have this garbage is getting old. Make the thing record they whole event!!! Nest cam battery models, always plugged in with excellent WiFi. Yes, max recording time is set to 3 minutes.

And it’s Saturday now and it’s stopped working again. Last recorded session at 1:18am this morning.
Do the google engineers hang out or cast an eye in these forums?

Of course not. they hire per diem in India for the project, then poof, they're all gone. There's none on payroll I bet. It's just such a piece of JUNK I am so sick of it. Next hurricane, I will pry it off the wall and chuck it!! There should be lawsuits on the unreliability and flimsy nature of this doorbell, it's a scam at this point.
