Vehicle notifications outside of specified zones

I have recently started getting notifications from my camera for every car that drives by on the street. I have three specified zones set up for the driveway, the front step, and the front yard and this has not been an issue since I installed the camera in August. For the past few days I have received notifications for a moving vehicle in the driveway every time a car passes. I have reduced the size of the driveway zone - nothing changed. I have deleted and re-established a new driveway zone - nothing changed. I have rebooted my iPhone - nothing changed. The only difference that I can see is that we had a snowfall a few days ago and the timing appears to coincide with when I started getting so many false positives on moving vehicles (there is still snow on the driveway). However, I don’t understand why the camera would think that snow on the driveway equals a moving vehicle (or else it would constantly think there was one there). Please help.

Hi there,

Sorry to hear you're experiencing this, as I can imagine it has been an inconvenience. I would love to look into this further for you. You can turn off your notifications for vehicles, or adjust the sensitivity in the app.

Best regards,
Brad

I don’t want to turn off Vehicle notifications as I actually want to know when one actually enters our driveway. I reduced the sensitivity of the floodlights (from high to medium). The “wake-up sensitivity” on the camera is already set to medium. However, the biggest difference appears to have been removing snow from my driveway. Once I did that the notifications essentially stopped. But I still don’t get why snow in my driveway would cause my camera to think that cars driving by in the street are in my driveway. Any thoughts on that?

It is possible that the section you have targeted, in that zone, may be thrown off as the lightness of the snow may affect it. You can also try to reset the zone again and see if that does the trick.

I did delete the zone and made it smaller (further from the street) when I redid it but that didn’t help. The snow on the driveway must have been causing an issue with the camera, as you said. It’s annoying but I guess it will not be an issue as long as I shovel the driveway after every snowfall.
