Video Preview empty when doorbell rang

Just upgraded from gen1 to 2 doorbell and experiencing issue with empty porch when doorbell rung. Almost like the preview is before the bell was rang. When I click on notification it take me a to home app with live feed and I see the person but why not the preview notification like gen 1? Is this by design?

What’s the point if this is how it operates???

I already retuned it and went back to Gen 1 Nest Doorbell. Google products are and always will be a disaster unfortunately. Time and time again they prove just how poorly designed they are.

Hello Modaff,

I'm sorry to hear that you're experiencing issues with the preview notification feature within the Google Home app. I'd love to help you out. First, are you having this problem with any of the other devices that are linked to your family member's account? Also, have you tried uninstalling the app from your phone and then downloading it again? Did you also make sure that your phone's software is up-to-date?

I look forward to your response.

Best,
Edmond

Yes to all questions. This seems to be an issue with the software rather than the hardware. Many many threads and. 0 solutions other than going back to gen 1 nest

Hi there,

Thank you for providing that information. Just for clarification, could you kindly provide me with the specific make and model of the phone you are currently using? Additionally, I would appreciate it if you could share the current software version running on your phone.

Best,
Edmond
