Video doorbell does not ring

I just installed my Google video doorbell, battery version. I thought the doorbell would ring to my phone, but it does not. Some older posts here indicate that the product is not designed to ring. It is a doorbell! Has this issue been fixed?

For now, the Nest Doorbell (battery) rings outside when someone presses the ring button, and it will send you alerts on your phone. But one of the options to sound inside, you need to install your Nest doorbell as wired or turn on the visitor announcement option. If you have Google Nest speakers or displays, you need to turn on the visitor announcement and add them to the same home structure where your Nest doorbell is for this to work. Turn on notifications:

• Camera and doorbell alerts.

Turn on visitor announcement:
