I keep getting the following message for video between saved events. Why can I not access the history (I have 24/7 Nest Aware)? The issue is ongoing

I get the same and have for over a year. The cameras and associated google home app are simply not fit for purpose.

Hi MartinBow,

Thanks for reaching out. A few questions: what Nest camera are we working on? Do you have a family member added? If so, could you check if the issue is happening on their device too? Also, what steps have you taken so far?

I look forward to your response.

Regards,

Juni

Hello

The issue relates to a Nest Outdoor Camera running on Google Home - it is a Google purchased item, I also have older Nest cameras operating on the Nest app and they do not have this issue.
I do have other family members active on the account and they also have the same issue.
I have previously tried removing and adding the camera, removing and resetting the app and changing the wifi signal but there have been no changes to this issue occurring on a regular basis.
Thanks

Hello everyone,

@MartinBow, I’m sorry you’re having issues with the Nest camera. We understand your concern about your device not working as it should, and we appreciate your reports here in the Community.

I'd love to dig deeper into this issue. Have you tried switching your mobile device from Wi-Fi to mobile data?

Let's try to check first if the Google Home app has any available updates.

Follow the steps below:

  1. Check for any iOS or Android updates.
  2. Uninstall the Google Home app, restart your phone, and then reinstall the app.

Let me know how it goes.

Thanks for the help, Juni.

Best,

Lance

Hello MartinBow,

Thanks for getting back to us. Try signing in your same email address to a different mobile phone and check if you'll get the same issue. Also, could you share here the screenshot of your Nest Aware subscription? Open your Google Home app> settings> Subscriptions> take a screenshot. Looking forward to your response.

Hi there,

We appreciate your update. It seems that your Nest Aware was applied to a different Home structure. To confirm, how many home structures do you have? Try checking the seen events settings on your Google Home app? Open your Google Home app> select your Nest Camera> Settings> Events> Seen Events> check if the categories there are enabled (People, motion and vehicle). You can share here the screenshot of your Seen events settings. Also, in case they're enabled you may try disabling them and enable it again. Let us know your update here.

Thanks,

Emerson
