Wasserstein Recent Emsil Claims

Received an email recently from Wasserstein with the Subject Line “Never have power problems again”.  It was a promotion for their solar panels that work in conjunction with security cameras of different brands including Nest.
Last year, I purchased one of these solar panels for my Nest Outdoor Camera (battery).  I can say that with the recent performance issues I have had over the past 3 months (Nov-Jan), this email is totally misleading.

Despite readjusting all the settings to conserve battery usage, I have needed to plug in my Nest into an electrical outlet TWICE due to low battery warnings (less than 10%).  It almost seems that the Wasserstein solar panel is draining the battery, not charging it.  And yes, the panel is in a location that receives sunlight.

By the way, of the two available panels for my Nest, I purchased the larger one.

The Google Nest Help topic below says this:

"Minimum charging temperature: 32°F (0°C)

If you’ve connected your Nest Cam (battery) to the Wasserstein Solar Panel, the panel doesn’t directly power the camera. Instead, the battery is trickle charged by the panel, and the camera runs off the battery charge. At temperatures between -4°F (-20°C) and 32°F (0°C), the camera will continue to work, but the battery will drain because it can’t be charged. If the battery drains completely, the camera will shut down."

We've had a battery camera since Sept. 2021, plugged in with the optional power cable. It's been "Live" and online ever since, except for a few internet interruptions. When it is plugged into household current, the camera functions differently:

"For wired installation setups with a Nest Cam (battery), the wires power the camera directly. At temperatures below freezing, the battery won’t charge, but as long as the wired power source is available, the camera can operate in temperatures down to -4°F (-20°C)."

I am fully aware of how this camera works and restrictions on charging.  My comment was directed at the recent Wasserstein promotional email with the misleading subject line “Never Worry About Power Again ☀️”.

So there is an apparent issue with these Wasserstein solar panels and there recent sakes email is misleading advertisement.
