Hi. I recently purchased a Nest 1st generation (wired). It is connecting to the Google Home devices and notfiying me when it rings by turning the camera on. Unfortunately it is not ringing except for on the phone.

Any advice would be greatly appreciated.

@corbrin

Do you have the "Visitor announcements" option enabled in the Google Nest app for your Google Nest Hello Doorbell?

Yes I do. The screen comes on when the doorbell rings. I somehow managed to get a 'There is someone at the front door' notification now. Any idea how to get it to make a ringing sound on the google home speakers? Thank you.

@corbrin

We get both the oral announcement and a ding-dong chime sound on our Nest Hubs. In fact, there are many complaints in this forum from customers who want to get just the chime sound and cannot. So I have no idea why you're not getting a chime sound.

Hi everyone,

@corbrin, thanks for reaching out here in the Community. To confirm, are you referring to the customised ringtone whenever someone presses your Nest Doorbell?

Looking forward to your response.

I appreciate the help, MplsCustomer.

Regards,

Emerson

Thank you for taking the time to answer. I have logged out of the home and in again a couple of times and it finally worked.
@EmersonB problem is solved. Yes, I would have loved to change the ringtone as it is set to default but it seems that the option is not available. Read some other threads from a couple of years ago and it seems that the option to change the ringtone is only available around the holidays, even for the non- holiday themed ones. It is a very strange arrangement if this is still the situation.

Thank you all for your time and help.

Kind regards,
Corinne
