I want to figure out how you got to the 2mps upload bandwidth
The issue I'm running into is that I don't know the color depth your cameras use. Here is my math and i just want to know what I'm missing, please educate me on how you get to this number
From my research, bandwidth is calculated from;
Bit rate = frame size * frame rate
Frame size = Resolution * Color depth
The use of H.264 encoding with 2000:1 compression ratio
So, with this info I tried to work backwards to figure out your color depth of around 64-bit
Frame size = Resolution * Color depth
Frame size = (1920 * 1080) * 64-bit color depth
Frame size = 2,073,600 bits * 64-bit color depth
Frame size = 132,710,400 bits
Bit rate = frame size * frame rate
Bit rate = 132,710,400 bits * 30 fps
Bit rate = 3,981,312,000 BPS (Bits per second) / 1024
Bit rate = 3,888,000 KBS (Kilo bits per second) / 1024
Bit rate = 3,796.875 MBS (Mega bits per second) / 2000 compression ratio from H.264 encoding
Bit rate = 1.8984375 MBS
Bit rate = ~ 1.9 MBS Bandwidth
But this only works because the color depth is 64-bit but that seems too high, so I think I'm missing something but I just cant figure out what it is, Can you help fill in the gaps, or if I did everything wrong, can you help fix this
Thank you

Hello HenryG,
Thanks for posting here in the Community. To know more about this issue, I'd like to confirm, which Nest Camera do you have? How many Nest Cameras do you have? Make sure that your internet service plan has enough upload bandwidth to support the number of Nest Cameras you have. Check with your internet service provider to learn about your plan's upload and download speeds. When you pick video quality and bandwidth settings, you set the maximum video quality for your camera. Your Nest Camera will automatically adjust video resolution and compression according to how much bandwidth is available. Hit this link for more information.

Emerson

With all due respect, how did this even remotely answer my question in your mind?
I need to know the colour depth of the camera, not how much bandwidth it uses, I got that information from the 2mbs upload I mentioned in the beginning. Granted, I did not mention my exact configuration, but you provided the link to the exact place I got that information from, so why wouldn’t you think I already discovered it? There is no where else to find that info
Three months for a reply and this is the response? My response is aggressive because you literally could have never typed this out and I would’ve been happier, than checking my email to this response that did absolutely nothing for me
