Where to connect the chime connector puck (Wired 2nd Gen Nest Doorbell)

I live in an apartment that was previously occupied by a deaf family. Instead of a traditional chime they use an Edwards Signaling Horn/Strobe device (model 6536-G5). Because of the limited terminals I am unsure where to connect the puck connectors. Any instruction would be greatly appreciated.

Hi madebymindel,

Thanks for posting in this community.

I understand you're looking for guidance on where to connect the chime connector puck for your Google Nest Doorbell (wired, 2nd gen), especially since your apartment uses an Edwards Signaling Horn/Strobe device (model 6536-G5) instead of a traditional chime. I can certainly help you with this!

Before I start further troubleshooting, let me ask you a few questions:

  • Is your Edwards Signaling Horn/Strobe device (model 6536-G5) enabled?
  • What is the voltage of your transformer and your chime?
  • Could you please send me the following information:
    • A photo of the wiring of the chime.
    • A photo of the wiring of the transformer (if it’s accessible for you).
    • A photo of the wiring of the chime connector

Please keep me posted.

Best regards,

Virna

Thank you Virna for your response. I managed to troubleshoot it myself and found a workaround that seems to be doing the trick. Thank you for your timely response and I will not hesitate to reach out with any future questions. Take Care.
