Not sure if this goes directly to Google or if this is just a community help board but I wanted to say that the Google Nest Cam with Floodlight is complete junk!
In fact I'm getting frustrated with all of the Google cameras... Well they work for the most part definitely not worth the subscription for the amount of times they don't work. But the absolute worst is the Google Nest Cam with the Floodlight.
This unit constantly goes offline or says that you need to check the magnetic connector for debris... If you're not getting those warnings then you're being told that it's on battery power and not being charged... But even better than that is 90% of the time you can't access the controls for the flood light because they're non-existent because it doesn't think there's even one installed...
So what's the deal Google? There's something internal in these which is causing problems... Otherwise why you see so many of the same complaints when you look up this issue? 🤔
Before anyone starts with suggestions on how to fix this please know I'm computer competent and have enough skills to build multiple houses and do all the wiring myself and get praises from inspectors and how good of a job it was. Bottom line is I can handle hooking up a single light.
The only thing that keeps me in the Google ecosystem right now is the fact is I dont have the time to rewire everything and go completely wired. Put in the coming months I can see this will be on my list... For now I might just go back to a standard flood light and put a Wi-Fi switch to control it.

I should add this was up and working for about 4 months then I started having problems... I reset everything put it all back to factory settings And then got about another 4 months out of it... I'm not going through this every 4 months.

This is just a community help forum. Google Nest suggests sending feedback here, but I don't know what happens to that feedback:

We have had a 2nd gen battery camera for almost 4 years now. (It's the same camera, minus the floodlight components.) I've noticed that the USB plug that goes into the bottom of the camera is rather flimsy; maybe that's part of the cause of your issues. Our camera is somewhat shielded from rain and snow by a camera shade, and our camera (plugged) has stayed online with the battery continually charged. (Or maybe we've just been lucky to not get a defective unit.) Unfortunately, the camera shield we have wouldn't work with the floodlight camera fixture.
I've seen other posts in this forum reporting the same issues with the floodlight camera

Thank you for the clarification!
