Why don’t the new Nest Cameras (battery) work with the Nest App?

I just bought a new Google Neat Camera (battery) and it does not show up in the Nest App after I successfully add it in the Google Home App. Google is saying this is on purpose. Why?

They're phasing out the old Nest app in favour of the Google Home app.  Features from the Nest app are slowly being migrated over.  For newly released devices, everything needed to use them fully is already included in the Home app.
