Why is Nest so bad??

I'm as googled up as I can be. Speakers, cameras, thermostat, Pixel phone. I'm all in on Google.

But these cameras are testing my patience. They take ages to load, that's if they do, they constantly buffer when trying to watch footage. The feed constantly freezes. My outdoor cam has transferred to Home but my doorbell can't. I have to say, they are absolute garbage.

We have ring cameras at work and despite my best efforts to not like them, they work flawlessly.

Are they ever going to be fixed? I want to add more cameras to my property but I refuse to invest anything while it's the state it's in.

i agree. 9 times out of 10 when i go to view my doorbell camera it spins and then "cannot load". And even when it does load it takes ages to come on, so when someone has rang the doorbell they are more often than not on the way back out so i miss them. Connection is rock solid so its defo the camera that is rubbish.

Hi folks,

Thank you for posting. I'm really sorry that the camera videos don't show as desired. This could be frustrating since this is one of the purposes of seeing the camera live footage. Help's here.

Here is a good article you can check and troubleshoot the issue. There are some steps you can try about talking and listening with a Nest Doorbell or camera.

Please keep me posted.

Regards,

Byron

Tried all those steps, it's still rubbish.

Hi Super_paulie,

Thank you for posting. I'm sorry that any previous steps didn't work.

For better assistance on this, please follow the instructions to contact our support team:

  1. Go to Contact Us (Google Nest Help).
  2. Select an appropriate product or category, type a brief description of the issue, and then click Next.
  3. Click Other, then click Next.
  4. In the Resources section, click Next Step.
  5. Choose to get a phone call, call, or chat with the team, depending on availability in your country.

I hope this helps.

Regards,

Byron

I don't think I'd waste my time doing any of that. All "support" is trivial such as "reset router", "move router closer", try turning it off and on. All the questions on this forum show that.

Life is too short for support like that, I just won't ever buy a Google product ever again and never recommend them to anyone.
