Wired Nest Cams need integration with Nest App, web access

I'm so frustrated and disappointed that my new, state-of-the-art Nest Cam has fewer features and less usefulness than it's predecessors.  I sit at my desk most of the day, so having web access to my Nest Cam feeds is a CRITICAL feature for me.  Further, the usability of the cameras on my phone is so much more intuitive in the Nest App than in the Google Home app.  At this time, sadly, my plan is to return my brand new camera and instead look to purchase on older model off of EBay.  Google, please listen.  I love your products, and am a loyal fan.  But this is a major issue and you have lots of competitors in this space.  Please UPGRADE the Google Home App to make it more user-friendly (like the Nest app) and PLEASE restore web access for video feeds from your new cameras.  I'll be starting my return today.

Thank you for your feedback on this issue, I fully understand the frustrations of not having your new Nest Cams in the Nest App or available on https://bit.ly/3HtBgJC web app. I can imagine having to use two different apps at the moment is quite daunting, and could lead to frustration. 

 

However, the new Nest cameras and doorbell are exclusive to the Home app because we wanted to create an integrated experience with your speakers and displays. A Nest Aware subscription applies to all of your cameras, speakers, and displays in the same home structure. Thank you for your continued patience, and support.

Thanks, Brad.  It's not that using two apps is inconvenient, though it is.  It's just that the Google Home app doesn't provide the same ease of use for the cameras.  I'd be fine if it were equal, but it just isn't.  I've returned the camera and am shopping for an older model 😪

You can close the thread.  I appreciate your response and hope Google will work to improve the Home App experience and re-enable web access to all cameras.....

I have definitely seen what you are saying as a general feedback mention. I hope that you have submitted your feedback on this inquiry in the app, that way your feedback is sent to the devs!
