Wired Outdoor Nest Camera battery at zero percent

I have a wired outdoor Nest Camera that says zero percent charged.  Why does the app think this is a battery Camera when it is wired to the house current?

Hi @gawik41951,

Thanks for reaching out in the community forum. I understand that you have a wired Nest Cam, but the Google Home app is showing it as battery powered. Don't worry, help is here.

In your case, the camera model you have can be installed and used both wired and battery-powered. However, since you have it installed wired, the power cable may not be providing enough power to the Nest Cam. To better assist you, please confirm:

  • When did the issue start?
  • What's the current camera's light? To check this, please visit the next article: Nest camera and doorbell lights and sounds
  • Are you able to check the camera feed?
  • Have you noticed or experienced any power outages recently?
  • Have you checked and cleaned the power connectors?

Please let me know the answers to these questions, and I'll be happy to help you further. In the meantime, you can find some tips in the following article: Troubleshoot low-battery issues for Nest cameras and doorbells.

Regards,
Jonathan
