Wired floodlight runs out of battery

  • Wired floodlight Cam has always worked well, but recently I updated my router and had to reboot the cam to update the password. After doing that it suddenly seems to run on battery. I constantly get a ran out of battery message. I also noticed the floodlight no longer shows up on my home app as a light, where before I was able to turn it on or off as a stand alone light. Even the actual cam used to have options for lights such as turn lights on when movement is detected... Those options are now gone. However, the floodlight actually still activates on motion so I know it's wired and has power. So now my cam doesn't work, and I can't control my floodlight, it just activates on its own when it detects movemwnt (something I always had set to off). How can I fix this?

@Juanarcin

I've seen several reports in this forum of the floodlight camera's battery not remaining charged. If yur floodlight camera's circuit is switched, is the switch on all the time? If it is, then your battery should remain charged. We've had the battery camera (basically the same camera) plugged in for 22 months, and it has remained "Live" and charged the whole time.

If your camera has continuous power, you could try contacting Support starting with this link:

Hello Emerson, sorry for the silence. I did try everything above and had no luck. However, for anyone having this issue, I would like to say that I got it to work. What I ended up doing was removing the camera from the flood light wire (power source), I then took an alcohol swab and cleaned both connections (on the plug and in the camera. I then made sure I dried them both well and replugged. Everything seems to be working fine now. Thanks again!
