The only video footage I can see though out the day is all of the  "motion" videos. And I can only see 24hrs footage for some reason. How can I see footage throughout the day and how can I see more than 24 hour footage?

I think this is the answer to your question. Go into the Google Home app and look at your camera.  Under the main image and to the right you will see a small box icon with 3 small marks to the left.  Click that  and you are now looking at the timeline view where you can scroll thru the 24 hours.

I dont see 24 hours it's only when the camera picks up the movement

There are (2) versions of the Nest Aware subscription.  "Nest Aware" only record the events.    "Nest Aware Plus" records 24/7 on cameras that are capable of it.  

The first thing to check is which subscription you have. Go into the Google Home app and click on the gear (settings) icon in the lower left corner.  It should tell you which nest aware subscription you have.   

Also, if you are running the camera on battery then it will not record 24/7.  You have to have it plugged in to AC power.  "
