Unable to connect to Camera after Factory reset. Factory reset camera has a white light, when adding camera again it is not found. Same issue for all Cameras.

Thanks EmptyNester for your assistance, this actually was extremely helpful. I had tried getting help from the support ticket website, however it seem to only provide existing articles, none of which were relevant. However I tried again after your reply and found the solution this time "No blue light to connect after factory reset", I have provided a link below. Basically the root cause of this issue is the Google instructions I was following to perform the factory reset are incorrect as they are incomplete, leading to the issue I was facing.

CORRECT instructions:

1. Press the reset button at back of camera (Nest Battery) and hold the button for 30 seconds.

a. The light will go white

b. The light will flash yellow and go solid yellow

c. The light will go out and there is a final sound

2. Connect the camera to the power cable and plugged in

3. The camera light will Go Blue, this is now ready to add to Google Home

If the light is not Blue it will not be able to be added.

INCORRECT instructions provided by Google: https://support.google.com/googlenest/answer/9252162?hl=en&ref_topic=9299926#zippy=%2Cnest-cam-batte...

  1. Locate the reset button on the back of the camera.
Tip: The reset button on the Nest Cam (battery) is located on the back of the camera head.
  2. Press and hold for 5 seconds.
  3. Your camera will restart, and the status light will be steady, solid white.

I hope this helps and makes sense. Thank you.

Lots of people have posted here with the exact same problem.  But this is a user forum with very little monitoring from Google.

Try opening a support ticket here for help:  https://support.google.com/googlenest/gethelp

Hi Ariliquin,  Thanks so much for posting.  This should help a lot of people.

So just to be clear holding the reset button for 30 seconds instead of 5 lets you get past the problem you were originally having?

Yes, all my camera have now been easily and successfully re added after I removed them  from the Home. It is not so much that it has to be pressed for 30 seconds, it does need to be pressed until the YELLOW light disappears completely. The WHITE light is only at the beginning, then flashing yellow, solid yellow, then it turns off. In this state when you plug the Camera into the power cable the BLUE light will be on solid. If you do not get the blue light when plugged into power, then the reset was unsuccessful and you will not be able to add the camera.
