Hi All
I've been trying to get a chime to work via my google speaker/assistant. It worked at one point briefly, but I cannot seem to get this to work, nor find a link showing a solution.
-doorbell is battery
-desired chime is the google speaker inside
-both products on same 'home', same wifi. have tried rebooting. factory restarted doorbell also.
-visitor notifications are on. 'ring indoor chime' is disabled, with a notice that says 'electronic chimes won't work with your doorbell when its using battery power.'
-app will not let me enable ring indoor chime.
What is the point of having the connectivity with the doorbell if i can't even make the chime work? Other functions work ok.

If your battery doorbell is not wired to your doorbell wires at the time you installed your battery doorbell, the "Indoor chime" option is automatically disabled because there is no way that the battery doorbell can send electrical current to ring your indoor doorbell chime if it is not wired to the chime.
Regarding sending "Visitor announcements" to your Nest Hubs or speakers, that should work as long as your speaker is online, unless your speaker is set to "Do Not Disturb".

Thanks - I should have specified that I am stuck on 'visitor announcements.' My speaker is online and "do not disturb" is disabled - but the chime does not play via the speaker. I guess I'll try to factory reset it.

Hey everyone,
@cmcmen, thanks for reaching out to the Community. I’m sorry to hear that you’re having issues with visitor announcements on the Nest Doorbell. I’d be happy to help you with this. Let’s check it out.
For Visitor announcements to work, the doorbell and Assistant-enabled device must be on the same home structure in the Google Home app.
Please follow the steps below:
Note: You can also use Do Not Disturb to temporarily turn off visitor announcements for your Google speaker or display.
Let me know how it goes.
Thanks for chiming in, MplsCustomer.
Best,
Lance
