This used to work when logging in through dropcam/nest account.
when I switched to logging in through my google account, message says
camera not turned on / wifi not connected. I am away fromn home so I
can't reconnect dropcam thru usb to my laptop. Any suggestions. Thanks.

You generally can't troubleshoot these kinds of issues remotely. You will need to be physically with the camera to go through the troubleshooting steps below. They're designed for Nest Cameras but should still be fairly applicable.

if the issue persists after following those steps, Google stopped supporting Dropcam a long time ago and don't offer them anymore, so it would not be possible to get support, warranty, or repair service for them.
