google doorbell (battery)

Hi, I wonder whether it is possible that if somebody presses the bell button  my phone responds with a loud sound, like phone ringing.  Now I just get a notification that is easily missed.

Thanks in advance

Regards,  Gilbert

Hi Gilbert,

Yes you would need to change the notification settings for the Google Home app and use any sound that you want.

Below is a screenshot of what this option would look like on Android 12.

Hi again,

Have a look at the section of the website linked below called....

Thanks to above I managed to get a loud notification.  Great improvement.  Still one remark.  It takes me a while to open the video link to the bell to be able to talk to the person at the door.  I am afraid I will be too late sometimes.  Is there a possibility to activate the video link immediately on my phone?

Hi again,

Automatically opening a live feed to the doorbell is only available for Google Home / Nest Hubs / smart displays.

I'd recommend leaving feedback for the Google Nest team through the Google Home app as this is the best way of getting feature requests to the team.

I did send feedback. Hope Google will do something with it.  As it works now I am afraid I will be too late to answer the doorbell using my phone as people are always in a rush

A related question.  Can Sonos play a sound when doorbell is pushed?

Hey folks,

Appreciate your answers, Cathal_S.

@Gilbert, sorry for the delay here. We can't speak in behalf of third party speakers with Google Assistant like Sonos if Visitor Announcement with our Nest Hello doorbell works with them. It is best to reach out to Sonos directly for an accurate answer.

Hey,

somewhat easy answer from your side.  I think Google should be able to check if integration with other (major) brands is possible.

@Gilbert

If it doesn't connect to the Google Home app, then it is not compatible.

Brad.

My Sonos speaker are connected to Google Home app.  So compatibility is no issue.  Next step is to get a notification on Sonos when Google doorbell is pressed.

Looking forward to advice.

I am afraid I do not know anything about Sonos speaker, so you will want to go through our Help Articles to see if you can find something on changing settings for notifications on a compatible device.
