need to remove email from my nest account & factory reset it

Hi Community!

I've been having an ongoing log-in issue with my camera. We have a first gen Nest indoor cam (no reset button). I would like to remove the email I originally set up the camera with, as I no longer use that email. I can't access it to reply to "reset password" or things like that. Ideally I would like to set up the login & all nest camera things with my new email, but I can't do that on the mobile app, and I don't remember the email to do it on the desktop. so next I figured I would just do a factory reset on the camera, but I don't find a button on it. I see it has a small pinhole at the bottom, but when I push anything into it, I don't feel a button click and the lights don't change colors at all.

I'd really appreciate if someone could help me out with this issue.

thank you in advance !

According to Google Nest, "There is no factory reset button on Nest Cam Indoor, Nest Cam Outdoor, or Dropcam. To reset one of these cameras, simply remove it from your account." (https://support.google.com/googlenest/answer/9252162?hl=en&sjid=15639618427530375708-NC#zippy=%2Cnes...)

thank you. I've tried that already & it doesn't really solve my main issue, which is to remove the original setup email from the account which I no longer have access to.

Google Nest does not seem to provide a clear process for changing the email account that owns a Google Nest "home". Some customers suggest adding the new email account (the one you want to switch to) to your Google Nest "home" by inviting that email account to be a member, and then using that new email account to remove your old email account as a member. If that works, then you wouldn't have to do a factory reset of all of your devices and then reinstall them.

If that doesn't work, or if you don't remember your original email, then you'd have to treat the process as a change in ownership by removing all of your devices from the Google Nest app or the Google Home app using your old email account, doing a factory reset on each device, and then reinstalling all of your devices in the Google Nest app or the Google Home app using your new email account.

It's more complicated if you have never migrated your Nest Account to a Google Account and are still using a non-gmail account to log into the Google Nest app.
