nest 3 hour event hitsory is not equal to 3 recorded hours? seriously?

this was a huge issue for me that i found out today. i was trying to find out if i had something with me when i got out of my car today at 5pm. its 9pm. the only events was me going to work, the mail man, and me coming home. at 9pm i cant find my extra bag, and wonder if i even had it with me coming home. the camera literally only keeps the last 3 hours of items?

here is the literal snippit of information on amazon about this camera posted multiple times:

[2]Up to 3 hours recording.

even going to g.co/nest/3hours it reads: If you have a newer camera like Nest Cam (battery) or Nest Doorbell (battery), you can get up to 3 hours of event video history without a subscription.

so what i have is a few minutes of recorded history a day and to go back and keep that for any amount of time, pay the subscription fee.

its not 3 recorded hours of interactions though, its just scummy systems to require payment on top of payments. brand loyalty and buying multiple items to group up products like the thermostat + homes + doorbells = being a sap i guess. just super disgruntled and disappointed about this entire thing now.

yep, caught me out as well. It seems almost deliberately misleading... I just subscribed in the end, but i wasnt planning on that at first.

Hello everyone,

Thanks for reaching out here in the Community. We understand your concern and the 3 hours of event video history is a rolling basis. The events that were recorded 3 hours ago will be deleted and register new events. It will not record the whole 3 hours. In case you're interested in subscribing to Nest Aware, you may visit our public article about "Event and 24/7 video history".

Regards,

Emerson

Yeah I know. And yes I do. Think that was obvious from my message.

Good ole bait and switch. Even the explanation sounds awful. "Sorry we mislead you, go ahead and subscribe since our base system is purposefully inconvenient. Thanks google.
